Special Needs Planning
Special Needs Planning
Protecting a family member with special needs is usually one of the greatest sources of stress for families caring for a person with disabilities.
Too often families are either too pressed for time to delve into the nuances of all the issues and solutions in special needs planning, or they are overwhelmed by the volume and complexity of the laws and regulations.
That’s why we created a broad overview of special needs planning as well as a much more in-depth article called “Special Needs Planning in Alabama: A Deep Dive.” You can get both of these resources for free by clicking the buttons at the bottom of this page.
Here are some of the tools that our firm uses to help our families impacted by special needs:
- First-party Special Needs Trusts
- Third-party Special Needs Trusts
- Powers of Attorney
- Supported decision-making agreements
- ABLE Accounts
The tools we use for our clients is only one part of the equation. We also provide advice on government benefits, including SSI, Social Security childhood disability benefits (formerly called “disabled adult child” benefits), Medicare, and Social Security spousal benefits for special needs families. We then coordinate all of this with your estate plan.
Our goal is for you to breathe a sigh of relief after working with us.
